Biography

Sébastien Cœuré was a talented French painter whose artistic vision contributed to the rich cultural heritage of nineteenth-century France. Born in 1778, he developed his craft during the Romantic period, a time of artistic innovation and creative exploration that defined French visual culture.

Cœuré's paintings reflected the aesthetic sensibilities and technical mastery expected of accomplished artists of his era. He maintained an active artistic practice throughout his long life, witnessing and participating in the evolution of French art. Upon his death in 1867, he was interred in Père Lachaise Cemetery, where he rests among other notable figures of French cultural achievement.
