Biography

Sergey Gusev was a Soviet military officer and revolutionary who played an important role in the Red Army during the Russian Civil War and subsequent military development. Born in 1874, he was among the generation of commanders who helped establish Soviet military institutions and strategy during the tumultuous early years of the Soviet state.

Gusev's long service to the Soviet military and his contributions to the Red Army's organization were honored through his burial in the Kremlin Wall Necropolis. His career spanned the most transformative period in Soviet military history. He died in 1933.
