Seth Kinman

Biography

Seth Kinman, born in 1815, epitomized the rugged frontier spirit as a hunter, woodsman, and storyteller who ventured across the Western wilderness long before it was fully settled. He supplied game and natural curiosities to pioneers and presidents alike, earning a reputation for courage, resourcefulness, and an indomitable love of the outdoors.

Kinman died in 1888 and was laid to rest in Loleta, where he is remembered as a remarkable figure whose life bridged the frontier and the capital with honesty and humor.
