Shalom Moscovitz
1887–1980 (age 93)
Biography
Artist Shalom Moscovitz made Safed his home and palette, translating the ancient city's white walls, winding lanes, and desert light into canvases that echoed both tradition and personal reflection.
He taught younger painters, contributed to the city's artistic reputation, and his grave in the old Safed cemetery preserves the memory of a creator who sought the divine in every brushstroke.
