Biography
Shapour Bakhtiar served as Iran's final prime minister before the revolution of 1979, and although his tenure was brief, he strove for national unity and constitutional reform; he lived in exile in Paris, holding onto hopes for a peaceful future for his homeland.
He kept a steadfast presence in the capital, maintaining friendships and advocating for democracy until his passing, and he now rests at Montparnasse Cemetery among other tireless public servants.
