Shelley Scarlett, 5th Baron Abinger
1872–1917 (age 45)
Biography
Shelley Scarlett, 5th Baron Abinger, was born in 1872 into a family long associated with public service, and he took up the responsibilities of his hereditary title with a quiet sense of duty and care for the communities who looked to the barony for guidance.
He combined those obligations with military service as the tension of the early twentieth century deepened, and after falling in the course of the First World War he was laid to rest in Brookwood Cemetery.
