Biography

Sherman Adams of Lincoln, born in 1899, devoted his life to public service, rising to national prominence as Governor of New Hampshire and later as White House Chief of Staff to President Eisenhower. Known for his direct manner and dedication to good governance, he guided the administration through wartime recoveries and efforts to expand opportunity for citizens at home.

After leaving Washington, he returned to New England where he remained engaged in civic affairs, supporting better schools and ethical leadership, leaving a legacy of discipline and commitment to the common good.
