Biography

Simon Wolfe Rosendale, born in 1842, blazed a trail in public service, becoming the first Jewish person elected to a statewide office in New York when he served as Attorney General. He championed fairness in the law and sought to strengthen the trust between citizens and the institutions that served them.

After his term in office he continued to mentor young lawyers and lend his voice to causes that promoted equity, leaving behind a legacy of courage and principled leadership.
