Biography

Sir Henry Strachey, 2nd Baronet, was a member of the English gentry and holder of a baronetcy that carried with it social standing and responsibility. Born in 1772, he lived through a period of considerable change in English society and maintained his position within the aristocratic and landed classes.

Strachey's life was rooted in the traditions and expectations of his social rank. He was interred in St Andrew's Church in Chew Magna, a place of significance to his family and community.
