Biography

As the eleventh Baronet of the Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington family, Sir Lionel Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington carried the duties of his title with a steadfast concern for the wellbeing of those on his estates, sustaining farming communities and acknowledging the changing needs of the era.

He is commemorated in the Church of St Peter, Woolley, where parishioners remember his support for the parish and the quiet example of a country gentleman devoted to service until his passing in 1901.
