Biography
Sir Stewkley Shuckburgh, 7th Baronet, assumed the stewardship of Shuckburgh in 1757 and kept the estate a source of stability for his neighbours as the county navigated political and agricultural change.
He watched over the Church of St John the Baptist, encouraging its ministers and ensuring repairs went forward so that worship could continue without interruption.
