Biography

Upon succeeding as the fourth Baronet, Sir William Henry Edward Chaytor oversaw the Croft estates with meticulous care, balancing the responsibilities of landed stewardship with a respect for the long history of his family.

The people of Croft-on-Tees remember him at St Peter's Church, where he encouraged diocesan initiatives and stood as a familiar patron until his death in 1908.
