Biography
Sir William Loraine, 4th Baronet, inherited and maintained the distinguished Loraine baronetcy during a period of considerable social change. His tenure as the fourth holder of this title reflected the continuity of the landed gentry through the late 18th century.
Sir William's life encompassed the final decades of the 18th century, a time of agricultural and industrial transformation. He was laid to rest at Church of St Wilfred in Kirkharle, his family's traditional place of burial.
