Smiley Hughes Bonham

Biography

Smiley Hughes Bonham (1814–1879) spent his life contributing to the growth of the Green Bay area, known to friends as a hard-working citizen who strove to strengthen both commerce and community ties. His efforts supported the developing town and helped it weather the challenges of the era.

After his death in 1879 he was laid to rest at Green Bay Cemetery, where his family and neighbors have honored him quietly. Today his memory lives on in the stories told by those who appreciated his generosity of spirit.
