Solomon F. Prouty

Biography

Solomon F. Prouty was born in 1854 and came of age in Wilmington as the city rebuilt itself after the Civil War, devoting himself to family and neighbors until the Glendale Cemetery would later enshrine him.

His calm presence served as an anchor for friends and relatives, and Glendale Cemetery remains a place where grateful visitors recall the steady kindness he offered to all who sought his counsel.
