Sophie von Scherer (1817–1876) was an Austrian writer who contributed to the literary culture of nineteenth-century Vienna. As a woman writer in an era when female literary voices were less frequently published and celebrated, she represents an important part of Austrian cultural history often overlooked by mainstream historical accounts.

Von Scherer's work as a writer placed her among the intellectual figures of her time, and her contributions to Austrian letters deserve recognition.
