Biography

Spencer Wishart emerged as one of America’s promising race drivers in the first decade of auto racing, tackling treacherous courses with a calm courage that inspired both fans and mechanics.

Though his life was shortened by the perils of the sport, his respectful rivalry and dedication to safety helped define the ideals of the fledgling racing community, and his memory is honored at Kensico Cemetery.
