Biography

Spytihněv Tvrzník was a twentieth-century resident of Litvínov who lived during a period of significant social and political transformation in Czechoslovakia. Born in the final years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, he witnessed the creation and development of the modern Czech state.

Tvrzník's memory is preserved in the former cemetery in Litvínov, where he was laid to rest. His life reflects the experiences of his generation in this important industrial region of Bohemia.
