Biography

Stanisław Dębski was a skilled printer whose craft was essential to the dissemination of knowledge and information in nineteenth-century Poland. Born in 1851, he practiced his trade during a period when printing was a vital profession in Polish cultural and intellectual life.

Dębski's work as a printer contributed to the preservation and spread of Polish language and thought. He died in 1917 and was laid to rest at Stary Cmentarz (the Old Cemetery) in Łódź, a historic burial ground.
