Stanisław Ostrowski was a physician whose compassion guided him from the wards of Lwów to civic leadership, including service as mayor before the war and later as President of the Polish Government-in-Exile, where he advocated tirelessly for his compatriots.

Settling in England in later years, he continued to care for others and to represent the resilience of Poland's democratic traditions, leaving a legacy honoured by those who remember him across the country.
