Stanislas Mangin answered the call of duty during the tumultuous mid-century, rising through the ranks with steady resolve as he helped guide his comrades with calm leadership and a sharp sense of duty.
In retirement he remained a steady presence at veterans' commemorations, offering counsel to younger officers before being laid to rest among the honored ranks of Père-Lachaise Cemetery, Division 44.
