Biography
Stanley Ketchel, born in 1886, rose from humble beginnings to become one of the great pugilists of the early twentieth century, renowned as 'The Michigan Assassin' for his ferocity in the ring. His courage, discipline, and remarkable skill brought him admiration as well as the respect of fans and fellow athletes alike.
After his untimely passing in 1910, he was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, remembered not only for his athletic achievements but also for the fierce loyalty he showed to those he loved and the intensity with which he lived each day.
