Biography

Sugar Dulin was a notable figure in early North Carolina history, living through the formative years of the young nation. Born in 1763, Dulin witnessed the transformation of the American colonies into a sovereign state and the subsequent growth of the frontier regions.

Dulin's life spanned the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, a period of significant westward expansion and settlement. His residence in Mint Hill reflects the pioneering spirit of those who helped establish communities in the Carolina piedmont. He passed away in 1848, leaving behind a legacy as part of the region's foundational generation.
