Sybil Ludington

Biography

Sybil Ludington was born in 1761 and lived a life of nearly seventy-eight years during a pivotal era in American history. She witnessed the birth of the nation and the development of its early institutions and communities.

She was interred at Maple Avenue Cemetery, where her memory is honored alongside those of her family and neighbors.
