Biography

Tadeusz Chłopik was a Polish fighter pilot whose courage and skill quickly earned the respect of his comrades as he joined the defenders of Britain during the darkest months of 1940. Trained in the air forces of his homeland, he transferred his experience to the RAF and flew in perilous missions over the Channel, offering steadfast protection to the convoys and towns below.

Every sortie he undertook reflected a deep commitment to freedom, and his loss near Southend-on-Sea in 1940 was mourned by those who had witnessed his calm under fire. His service lives on in the memory of a pilot who gave all to the cause of peace.
