Taki Zenzaburō

Biography

Taki Zenzaburō (1837–1868) was a samurai who lived during the final years of the Edo period and the early Meiji Restoration. He witnessed and participated in the dramatic social upheaval that transformed feudal Japan into a modern nation-state.

His burial at Nōfuku-ji Temple marks his place among those who experienced Japan's turbulent transition. Zenzaburō's life reflects the experiences of samurai navigating the profound changes of the 1860s.
