Tanaka Mitsuaki (1843–1939) was a long-lived military officer whose career spanned nearly the entire Meiji period and extended into the Taishō era. His military service reflected the transformation of Japan's armed forces during one of the nation's most dynamic periods of change and modernization.
Tanaka's longevity allowed him to witness and participate in Japan's remarkable military development across multiple decades. He was laid to rest at Gokoku-ji Temple, a final resting place honoring his extensive service to the nation and his role in Japan's military heritage.
