Biography
Ted Beard patrolled the outfield for the Pittsburgh Pirates with grit and reliability, earning respect for his patient approach at the plate and his willingness to do whatever the team needed.
After his playing days he remained a welcome presence in baseball circles, sharing stories and encouragement with younger players while resting now at Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church Cemetery.
