Biography

Tekla Dalewska lived a long life spanning from 1838 to 2000, witnessing and experiencing the dramatic transformations of Poland throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Her life encompassed periods of great historical change and challenge for the Polish nation.

Dalewska's longevity allowed her to see Poland through numerous historical epochs, from imperial rule through independence and beyond. She was laid to rest at the Evangelical Cemetery of the Augsburg Confession in Warsaw, a final resting place that reflects her connection to Warsaw's Protestant community.
