Biography

Tench Coxe (1755–1824) championed industrial development and sound fiscal policy for the young United States, writing in support of manufacturing, tariffs, and public finance while serving in various public offices.

He remained connected to Christ Church, Philadelphia, where his advocacy for economic order met the spiritual community that sustained so many of the nation's founders.
