Biography

Teresa de la Parra was a pioneering Venezuelan writer and novelist whose literary works explored themes of identity, society, and the human condition. Born in 1889, she became one of the most important literary figures of early twentieth-century Latin America, known for her elegant prose and insightful social commentary.

Her novels, including her acclaimed works of fiction, established her as a major voice in Spanish-language literature. De la Parra's contributions to Venezuelan and Latin American letters secured her place among the nation's most celebrated intellectuals, and she was honored with burial in the National Pantheon.
