Biography
Théodore Guérin, known as Saint Mother Theodore, crossed the Atlantic to found the Sisters of Providence in Indiana, building schools and infirmaries with patience, courage, and a deep compassion for settlers and Indigenous neighbors alike.
Her perseverance through epidemics and hardship inspired the sisters she formed, and she was laid to rest at the Sisters of Providence Convent Cemetery surrounded by the community she nurtured.
