Biography
Theodore Hyatt (1830–1900) devoted years of his life to public service, stepping forward during times when his community needed courage and resolve. He believed in unity and in the responsibilities that belong to citizenship, and those who knew him appreciated his willingness to act with humility and calm respect for others.
He now receives the nation’s thanks at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, where he is remembered among fellow citizens for putting country before self and for the steady character he displayed to the end.
