Biography
Thomas Byrne answered the call to serve, dedicating his life to the defence of his country during a career marked by fine character and courage. Born in 1866, he embodied the virtues of discipline and loyalty, forging bonds with fellow servicemen through shared sacrifice.
Byrne’s commitment never faltered, and even as the world shifted around him he remained a dependable figure, offering guidance and encouragement to younger recruits. When he passed in 1944 he was laid to rest in Canterbury City Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of steadfast honour.
