Thomas Cadell
1835–1919 (age 84)
Biography
Thomas Cadell earned the Victoria Cross for conspicuous gallantry during his military career, and his courage inspired the men he commanded as he led them through some of the most trying moments of the Empire's campaigns.
He carried that same sense of duty into the years that followed, mentoring younger officers and remaining a steady figure in the community until he was laid to rest in Tranent Churchyard in 1919.
