Biography

Thomas Fitzsimons was a distinguished Irish-American merchant whose intellect and dedication elevated him to prominence in the young republic; he represented Pennsylvania in the U.S. House and was one of the signers of the United States Constitution, lending his voice to the formation of a lasting national framework.

Faithful to the ideals of service, he supported civic improvements and education in Philadelphia while keeping close ties to Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, his final resting place in the churchyard honoring his patriotism.
