Biography
Thomas Frank Durrant was an officer whose valor became emblematic of the sacrifices made during the raid on Saint-Nazaire; facing fierce opposition in 1942, he refused to waver and inspired his comrades by his example.
He rests at Escoublac-La-Baule War Cemetery, and his Victoria Cross citation continues to remind visitors of the courage he exhibited in the face of overwhelming odds.
