Thomas H. Herndon

Biography

Thomas H. Herndon trained as a lawyer and, from 1870 until his death in 1883, served Alabama in the U.S. House of Representatives, bringing a steady voice to Reconstruction-era discussions.

He remained dedicated to helping his district recover from war by supporting infrastructure improvements and veterans’ needs, and he is commemorated at Magnolia Cemetery.
