Biography

Thomas Henderson was a Nashville resident whose life extended from 1789 to 1854, a span of sixty-five years encompassing the early republic and the antebellum era. He lived through Nashville's transformation from frontier settlement to established city and was part of its founding generation.

Henderson's long life provided him with perspective on the changes that shaped Nashville and Middle Tennessee. He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, where he remains part of the historical legacy of Nashville's pioneer residents.
