Thomas Holmes

Biography

Thomas Holmes (1817-1899) witnessed nearly the entire nineteenth century, a span that carried him through sweeping social and technological shifts. Though the records of his profession remain unknown, his life contributes to the broader story of resilience on display at Cypress Hills Cemetery.

We honor him with gratitude for a lifetime that weathered so much change and yet stands today as part of the shared history of New York.
