Thomas Langford Butler

Biography

Thomas Langford Butler (1789-1880) lived through the first decades of the republic and then into the age of expansion, witnessing great movements of people and ideas. His steadiness provided a touchstone for others even as much remained unknown about the details of his daily life.

He is interred at Carrollton IOOF Cemetery, where the community continues to honor him as a part of its longstanding history.
