Thomas Liddell, 1st Baron Ravensworth (1775–1855), sat in the House of Lords as a peer whose counsel was sought on matters of industry and reform.

He oversaw estates and coal interests with a sense of duty, supporting local welfare and charitable efforts in Lamesley, where his memory is held in esteem.
