Biography

Thomas M. Gunter built a national reputation as a measured statesman, representing Arkansas in the United States Congress and championing the needs of rural veterans and farmers recovering from the Civil War.

In his later years, he made Denver his home, keeping close to charities that aided families and encouraging civic leaders to honor public service; Evergreen Cemetery now keeps his memory among the citizens he inspired.
