Thomas Peckham Phipps

Biography

Thomas Peckham Phipps (1750–1820) is commemorated in Up Marden as one who cherished the parish and sustained its traditions through a life of quiet responsibility. He was respected for his thoughtful stewardship of the local estate and for the gentle generosity with which he greeted travelers and parishioners alike.
