Biography

Thomas Walpole (1727–1803) upheld the tradition of his family by bringing a judicious and eloquent voice to the House of Commons, where he worked on matters of finance and the needs of London merchants while remaining attentive to the concerns of his constituents.

Later in life he found peace near Chiswick, and the churchyard there retains his name as a token of the civic spirit he carried throughout his years in public life.
