Biography

Thomas Wildman served as a military officer with steadfast courage, embracing the responsibilities of command with both resolve and compassion for the men under him. His career mirrored the trials of the age, and he always returned from service mindful of the sacrifices others made in the name of duty.

His memorial, located sixty metres north east of the chapel at Mansfield Cemetery, recalls a soldier whose sense of honor and loyalty endured long after his passing in 1859.
