Tilly Rice

Biography

Tilly Rice was born in 1724 and lived through much of the eighteenth century, experiencing significant transformations in colonial and early American society. Her long life provided witness to the dramatic changes that reshaped the American landscape.

Rice passed away in 1803 at the advanced age of seventy-nine and was laid to rest at Brookfield Cemetery. Her longevity allowed her to see the birth of the American nation and the establishment of its early institutions.
