Biography
Tokugawa Narikatsu (1820–1849) was a member of the Tokugawa family during the final decades of the Edo period. Though his life was brief, he lived during a transformative time in Japanese history as the shogunate faced increasing internal and external pressures.
Narikatsu's burial at Chōhō-ji Temple reflects the prominence of his family lineage and the respect afforded to members of the ruling Tokugawa clan. His brief existence nonetheless connects him to one of Japan's most influential families during a pivotal era of change.
