Biography

Tracy Hall, a pioneering materials scientist born in 1919, helped usher in a new era for industrial research by creating one of the first reproducible synthetic diamonds, making him a quiet hero of high-technology progress.

Despite recognition from his peers, he remained humble, delighting in sharing his knowledge with students and supporting fellow researchers from his home base in Provo.
