Biography

Troy H. Middleton, born in 1889, rose through the ranks of the United States Army to command VIII Corps during World War II and played a key role in the success of Allied forces in Europe before serving with the same calm authority as president of Louisiana State University.

He continued to mentor young minds and exemplify duty long after the guns fell silent, and his grave at Baton Rouge National Cemetery now marks the resting place of a loyal soldier and educator.
